About Dave

Dave’s dynamic style of playing is a trademark of the Paul Paoli Band.

He combines elements of pop, country, jazz and rhythm and blues to create his own unique sound. Playing all original music in the band has given Dave the opportunity to use his creative talents to write all of the keyboard parts heard on the band’s songs.

Dave comes from a family with a “short line” of musicians. His grandfather was the only musician in his family. He loved to play the organ. Dave never got to meet him because he passed away before his birth. By God’s providence, Dave seemed to gravitate to the keyboard as a child. At the age of 10 he began playing the organ and two years later he moved on to the piano. The earliest musical influences Dave can recall come from listening to his parent’s records of Dean Martin and Mantovani. Through the years Dave has been influenced by such artists as Billy Joel, Journey, Chicago and many others.

By the age of 15 Dave was playing professionally in a wedding band. Over the years he has played a variety of styles in oldies, rock and country bands opening up for such artists as: the Charlie Daniels Band, the Marshall Tucker Band, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Patty Loveless, Little Texas and other national acts. Dave particularly enjoys playing blues, country and Southern Gospel music.

Faith is the cornerstone of Dave’s life. At the ripe old age of 16 he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. From the time he became a believer, he did not want to just accept what he was told to believe. He searched the Scriptures to know what he believed and why. Dave loves to challenge others to ask the difficult questions and he gently encourages them to look to the Lord for the answers. In addition to being a gifted musician, Dave is a devoted husband and father who is thankful for the blessing his family is to him. He also uses his musical gift at the church his family has worshipped in for the past 10 years.

Dave’s playing is filled with passion and beauty; inspiring audiences young and old alike. When asked how playing Christian music now differs from his earlier experiences playing secular music, Dave responded, “For me it is a calling; a tool that can be used to impact people’s lives to bring them closer to God.” The Bible says. “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord” and Dave does just that!
